We wrote Rising Up early in the pandemic and we feel it applies now more than ever, when we can see a hint of sunshine at the end of a long storm. This song is about resilience and a collective interdependence that allows space for rising up through adversity. With bittersweetness, this is the first of the last batch of Citizen Jane songs we're sending out into the world. These last few tunes are a true amalgamation of our folk and pop foundations, brought to life by Alan Mackie on bass and with Sam Gleason's mixing mastery. Thank you to our communities, friends, family, fans, wonderful people from all corners for joining us on our journey together in music and love. Here's to us all rising up in new ways together.
